Programs
A. Academic Programs
Content
The scope and sequence for the different subject areas and levels this year will be provided. This will contain not only the essential skills outlined by DepEd but also the values and skills that COJ realizes each student will need to equip them to adjust to the new way of learning.
Delivery
Instructions will be given by teachers to further explain concepts
but learning experiences will also involve other media and formats such as readings, videos, and the like. 4
Consultations
COJ will prepare a consultation schedule so that students and parents can have one-to-one meetings with teachers to assist them in their learning.
Grading System
Learning will be assessed using performance tasks, written works, and projects. Each one will be evaluated according to a set of guidelines (rubrics).
B. NON-ACADEMIC FORMATION PROGRAM
Academics are important but this is not the only way that children can learn. Extra-curricular and other interest-based activities will be made available for them as well. These will round out your child’s experience of school, albeit done in the safety of your homes.
C. SPIRITUAL FORMATION PROGRAMS
An integral part of the COJ brand is the spiritual and character formation of our students and their families. COJ aims to continue this despite the limitations brought about by the present circumstances.
Prayer
Prayers will continue to be a part of every synchronous class.
Worship
We will also have prayer and worship sessions as a COJ family from time to time.
Recollections / Retreats
Students will still have scheduled recollections and5
Character First!
We will continue to emphasize growth in character by keeping the Character First! Program.
Birthdays
Celebrations may be different but the tradition of honoring and praying-over of celebrants will continue.
D. HOMEROOM
Each class will have a Homeroom Teacher overseeing their academic and classroom life. Common activities will be done as a homeroom class. Parents can also connect with their child’s Homeroom Teacher for their concerns.
E. OUTREACHES AND SOCIAL INVOLVEMENTS
The school aims to raise students in Christian Servant Leadership – a call which is not diminished in these unusual times. If anything, the call to be of service and help to others has grown. Watch out for activities and ventures that will call our students to be of help to others.
