What Do We Do
COJ Catholic Progressive School was founded out of a desire to be able to bring about God’s plan to bring the children to Himself. The mission of COJ is:
To form children in authentic Christian character and academic excellence, training them to be responsible, patriotic citizens.
To work closely with teachers and parents in bringing up children in the Christian faith, offering opportunities for children and their parents to come to a personal relationship with Christ.
To help children grow in their awareness of the plight of the poor and the less fortunate.

The COJ Logo
The three figures (looking like persons), intertwined with each other are stylized representations of the letters C, O and J. These three figures are in a triangular shape showing stability. They are the united efforts or cooperation among parents and family, school, and child to successfully form the individual.
Blue is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is also used to symbolize piety and sincerity.
Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.
Dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness. The flame symbolizes enlightenment or knowledge.
The flame is love. It is the inspiration and the zeal. Red is ardor.
The cross in the middle symbolizes that faith in Christ is at the very core center of COJ’s vision. In whatever we do, JESUS is at the center of our lives. He is our inspiration as the SERVANT LEADER. He is in our HEARTS and MINDS.
What makes COJ is ultimately the close interaction of school, parents and students with the firm resolve to put Christ at the Center of our learning, using the progressive method of education.
COJ Catholic Progressive School was founded out of a desire to fulfill God’s plan to bring the children to Himself. In 1988, while in prayer, Marion Cruz conceptualized a preschool for the children of Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon Community. Ten years hence, Marion collaborated with three other co-educators-in-the-faith to being the vision to life. Like bakers kneading bread, they lovingly prepared the school.
With the blessing of community leaders and the outpouring of donations from home and abroad, COJ opened its doors in 1998 to 17 pre-schoolers. The following years saw a steady deluge of blessings as the school gradually expanded, earning DepEd Recognition in 2002, By 2000, COJ started its Grade School levels and extended to junior High in 2014.
Today, COJ has grown to a student body of 176 and a dedicated faculty and staff of 40. The vibrant parent sector is a tremendous source of support to the community. And COJ is also the cradle of families being reborn in the Spirit.
Each day is counted as a blessing, with the living hope that God will sustain COJ’s work of raising Catholic leaders who will be “alter Christus” in this loved yet darkened world. And we witness seeds bearing fruits as graduates leave our humble halls to take their place as servant leaders in their families, at work, in community, and society.
